New Hobby

After lunch last month I wonder through my Air Force Exchange Store and meandered past the firearms display cases.  I knew that I should keep walking, but I was curious what they were selling so I stopped for just a minute...supposed to be a minute.
Many, many, minutes later I went from full belly and board to a super excited and annoyed.  I live in California and California has laws that really, really dampen any law abiding citizen's mood.
Here's the short version:  First I can only choose firearms that are California approved.  I will save my thoughts for another post of the stupidity on which firearms are approved, but lets just say you can't buy any firearm that is featured in any action movie. 

I have to wait for 10 calendar days (down to the exact minute) to pick-up my firearm.  When I pick-up I can't purchase any ammo at that location.
What to do next?  Well I can always prep the battle space:  Buy a small safe, buy ammo, holster, and picatinny rail light.  Stay tuned for these future posts.

Small Safe review: Stack-on PS 1510B

I already own a very large safe, but since I want a handgun in the house I was in the market for a smaller safe.  Usually, I enjoy opening up my computer and doing hours of research searching for the best item, but today was not the usual day (I was just reacquainted with California firearm restrictions and was not pleased).  So I purchased the Stack-on PS 1510B Bio safe. It fit my initial requirements:  Compact, ease of use, and affordable.  After using it for a while here's the issue.  When you place your finger on the bio scanner it NEVER works the first time.  You have to remove your finger and try a second time and then it works.  After doing some research I'm probably going to replace it with Fort Knox pistol box .
